Toronto Real Estate’s ‘outrageous, viciously competitive, record-breaking market’
October 21, 2014
Toronto Life’s Real Estate Specials are always worth a read, even if they’re subtitled with very excited lines like Outrageous Tales from the Overheated Market.
They have profiled a number of streets in the city, including Etobicoke’s Twyford Road, where unrenovated bungalows sell for north of $1M.
Closer to the core, they have also profiled Parkdale’s Melbourne Avenue where semi’s go for over $1M as well. TL says it’s hipsters buying the houses, but I’m not sure they can afford them, after spending hard earned cash on beard conditioner… that’s a joke folks!
Of course, most streets and neighbourhoods don’t experience that level of craziness, but it wouldn’t make for a very interesting story.
They have also spoken to a small number of unhappy home buyers, which again, isn’t typical! Many people are disappointed when it comes to bidding wars, but not to this level.
