Toronto Real Estate: A non-descript yarn factory captivates its developers – and changes their plans

With condo developers buying up and building on practically every empty lot in the city (and knocking some buildings down in the process), existing plots of land are becoming increasingly rare. However, with so many laneways available in Toronto, it was only a matter of time before people began building there. They aren’t of interest to larger developers because of the lack of space available but laneways can be perfect for people who are looking to build a smaller home.
The National Post recently published an article about how Vancouver is facilitating growth of laneway development as well as something happening in Bloordale, where an old yarn factory has been saved and combined with a development of townhouses.
