Staying in town for the summer?
Here are nine Toronto events ranging from the kid friendly KidsFest in Centreville to the decidedly non-kid friendly Toronto Burlesque Festival:
July 4-6: KidsFest
Taking place during the first full weekend of July, KidsFest welcomes the arrival of summer with kid-sized activities that are fun for the whole family! With face painting clowns, bouncing castles, colouring stations, live animal visits from Far Enough Farm, music, a Guinness World Record attempt and more, KidsFest delivers three full days of family island fun!
July 8-Aug 2: Scotiabank Caribbean Festival
Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival Toronto is an exciting three-week cultural explosion of Caribbean music, cuisine, revelry as well as visual and performing arts. In its 46th year it has become a major international event and the largest cultural festival of its kind in North America.
July 11-13: Waterfront Blues Festival
Waterfront Blues has historically been the first out of the festival gate at the beginning of June, this highly regarded event has now moved to July, (specifically July 11, 12 and 13), along with the bulk of its’ contemporaries.
July 18-27 Beaches Jazz Festival
StreetFest is a Beaches International Jazz Festival signature event showcasing the finest in Big Band, Swing, Dixieland, Smooth, Post-Bop, Afro-Cuban, Fusion, Funk, R&B and Soul sounds that Toronto has to offer. Forty Canadian bands will entertain you along a 2.5 km stretch of Queen Street East located between Woodbine Avenue to the west and Beech Avenue to the east are closed for this occasion.

July 20: Brazilfest Toronto
BrazilFest is as much an opportunity for Brazilians to reconnect with their roots as it is to educate North Americans about their culture. It is a “one-stop cultural trip to experience the richness and energy of the Brazilian people through dance, food and festival.
July 24-27 Taste of Toronto
Billed as the World’s Greatest Restaurant Festival, this event features Toronto’s most celebrated chefs and rising stars, foodie entertainment and boutique food & drink market.
July 24-27 Toronto Burlesque Festival
Since 2008, The Toronto Burlesque Festival has been bringing the most exciting international and Canadian headliners to the stage. Toronto performers are prominently showcased and have joined the ranks of the world’s best since the festival’s inception. Now in its seventh year, the Toronto Burlesque Festival is four day whirlwind of performances, parties and workshops – not to be missed! The festival runs Thursday, July 24th to Sunday, July 27th, 2014 with key events at Virgin Mobile MOD Club.
July 24-27 Toronto Beer Festival
Toronto’s Festival of Beer is a celebration of Canada’s rich brewing history, hosted by experts of the brewing craft from around the world. Featuring 300+ brands onsite, this is Canada’s premier celebration of the golden beverage!
