The Regency Yorkville: Toronto Condos Reviewed!
March 29, 2011
Over the last couple of years since The Regency Yorkville has been completed, I’ve had the opportunity to assist an owner with selling a couple of suites in the building as well as I’ve had a couple of suites available for lease. In fact, as of the time of this post, I have one available for lease right now!
I happened to be in The Regency again today showing a suite and the first thing that I always notice when entering this residence is how professional and courteous the concierge staff are… they are always on the ball and I can tell you, it’s appreciated. It gives a wonderful overall first impression of the building.
Now, some of the buyers, or agents for that matter, that I have shown the building and suites to feel that the level of finish isn’t exactly what they would expect for what is to be considered a Yorkville luxury residence but overall, for this price point in Toronto’s luxury market, it’s more than acceptable. One has to remember that every suite in the building was customized to the individual taste of the original buyer so you can’t judge the entire building on the look of only a few available or recently sold suites. Personally I feel it’s better than some of the coveted residences on St. Thomas St. where every suite I’ve ever seen looks much like the next.
The majority of the units that have sold in the Regency since the building’s registration have been more of a builder’s standard finish which is still far and above most standard finishes in the Toronto real estate market. In part, I wonder if some of their bias may come from the fact that PlazaCorp (the developer) is not well known in Toronto for their luxury condominium residences… personally, I feel that of all the PlazaCorp residences I’ve seen and shown in Toronto’s downtown condo market, comparing The Regency to the rest is really comparing apples to oranges.
