The 10 best new restaurants in Toronto
December 18, 2013
Whenever I’m helping someone find a condo or house, I always say, “Think neighbourhood first”… and there are so many cool Toronto neighbourhoods to choose from. But more importantly, think restaurants too because if you’re looking for good food options, having them in your area makes life easier when you just don’t feel like cooking. The Globe and Mail’s Chris Nuttall recently identified the Top 10 restaurants in Toronto for 2013…see if any are in your ‘hood.
Of course, opinion is subjective and judging by the comments below his article, not everybody agrees. I haven’t been to #10, Electric Mud, but despite his glowing review, these lines alone would prevent me from going: “The sound levels crippling, the prime-time lineups interminable. The aesthetic, meantime, is best described as “Alabama Hillbilly Keg Party.” and “Once your ears stop ringing you might even admit to having had a fantastic time.”
Interestingly enough, 9 of the down are downtown and 8 of those are west of the DVP.
Do you agree that “restaurateurs fought harder than ever for top service and kitchen talent”? I’d be curious to know which restaurants surpassed your expectations this year.
