If we’re lucky, we still have several weeks of warmer weather to look forward to and if you’re still itching for a patio experience, those sidewalk and curb lane patios might be open, at the discretion of the restaurant owner, until November 7th! In the meantime, there are some great events happening this month including TIFF and the return of Just for Laughs.
For me, this summer I was fortunate to be able to spend a number of weekends up north with friends and family at our new cottage. Swimming in the lake, going for long forest hikes, and watching magical sunsets was just the relaxation-medicine I needed to get ready for what is hoped to be a busy fall real estate market.
The Bank of Canada recently announced a .75% hike to the key interest rate, bringing it to 3.25%. According to the Globe and Mail, we can expect further hikes in an effort to tame inflation. How this will affect the market remains to be seen. Interestingly, sales were up in August compared to July. We’ll see if that trend continues in the fall.
