Searching for Toronto Condos and Homes
June 9, 2011
Searching for a home has just been made easier! As of July 1st, 2011 the Toronto Real Estate Board has a new search field that allows us as Realtors to look for homes in specific neighbourhoods instead of only using map co-ordinates and streets as boundaries. What this means to you as a consumer is that you get a more focused search and you get to see listings that only match your needs.
One of the basic first steps I use when searching for a home or condo for you is to enter all your basic requirements/needs and wants into what’s called a “prospect match” system. So every day you and I get sent one email from the automated Toronto Real Estate Board system that has a list of any new listings from the day before that match your requirements. It’s a way of making sure no listings slip by us, assuring you have the chance to see everything that becomes available.
Often there are many properties in the list that you’ll wonder why on earth they are even being sent to you, but you know, sometimes you have to weed through the bad stuff to get to the good… this new search field for specific neighbourhoods just ensures that there is more good than bad… and that can only be good!
