Pet Restrictions in Toronto Condos
August 27, 2014
Did you know that there are over 50 off-leash dog parks in Toronto? Interesting fact: not all of them allow commercial dog walkers.
If you’re a dog or cat lover, you definitely want to check the rules about pets before you buy a condo in Toronto. Some condo buildings ban pets altogether, some have restrictions and some keep a really close eye on them…
This is from an article by Denise Balkissoon in The Grid’s condo buying guide: 77 Carlton Street. This condo’s stringent canine guidelines have become something of an inside joke in the Toronto real-estate community: The building’s board keeps an updated catalogue of the residents’ dogs, complete with names and pictures, and tracks the pups as they move on and off of the premises.
The number of people who live in condos and have dogs has come as a surprise to both developers and some city councilors – to the point where some denser neighbourhoods have to retrofitted to accommodate the number of dogs and the waste products they produce. Click here for that article.
