January Newsletter: TO’s Best New Takeout – 15 Items Every Home Office Needs and Four Featured Listings!
January 8, 2021
Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed a little downtime over the holidays and are facing 2021 refreshed.
With the city being under lockdown until at least January 23 (and dare I say, probably longer) …and many of us working from home for the foreseeable future, you’ll find some ideas below for new takeout options as well as a guide to items that every home office needs, including lighting and organization tools!
If you scroll way down to the bottom for the market stats, there are two sets of numbers to pay attention to. The first is for sales in December, which were up overall by 59% compared to December 2019. The second, which I believe to be a more telling picture, can be seen by looking at sales in 2020 in the 416, which were up by single digits, except for condo sales, which were down by 6.7% compared to 2019. So what does this mean? It signifies that people have a lot of confidence overall in Toronto. It also shows it’s a good opportunity for first-time buyers to jump into the market, especially with condo prices down, mortgage rates so attractive, and the increase to the maximum purchase price for the First-Time Home Buyers Plan.
Now normally, there’s not a lot happening real estate-wise in January but this year is starting off with a bang. I have FOUR fantastic listings, including two lease opportunities, a Garden District home, ripe & ready for a refresh and lastly, a spacious two bedroom plus den suite steps to the St. Lawrence Market.
