Happy New Year; I hope you’re having a great start to 2020!
At the beginning of a new decade, it’s nice to look forward at what’s to come, but it’s also kind of fun to look back and see what’s changed in the last 10 years. Overall, 2019 was a good year for the Toronto real estate market. In December, sales in the GTA were up by 17.4% as compared to December 2018. Interestingly, sales of detached homes were up by 16%, though the average price was up by just 0.4%. With interest rates predicted to remain low, 2020 would be a year to move up – prices are only going to continue to rise considering how low our inventory of homes and condos to buy continues to be.
