Doors Open 2015: May 23 and 24
May 21, 2015
Doors Open Toronto is happening this weekend for the 16th time! The theme this year is Sports, Recreation and Leisure to recognize the Pan Am/Para Pan Am games happening in July.
More than 155 buildings are open to the public, many of which aren’t normally accessible, including the TTC Greenwood complex, where you can attend workshops and even take a train through the car wash. Odd note, no tripods allowed.
Also on the list is the Canada Life Building where you can visit the ‘historic 17th floor observation room that provides a panoramic view of downtown Toronto and Lake Ontario.’ (Tripods allowed here).
The Regent Part Aquatic Park is also open – while it’s normally open to the public, there are guided tours – and if you’re tired of seeing the buildings, there are public swim times.
Those with a sweet tooth may want to visit Redpath Sugar where you can see special exhibits and watch a video on the production process.
