Toronto Winter BrewFest (March 1st-2nd)
For a fourth year, lovers of craft beer are invited to celebrate our brewing wealth. March 1-2, come sample more than 150 beers crafted from brewers from across Ontario and Quebec. In a warm and festive setting, come and discover a wide range of local craft breweries and nibble on delicious gourmet food from Toronto’s best food trucks.
TO Sketchfest (March 6th-17th)
The first Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival was presented in 2005 and was inspired by great Sketchfests in Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Vancouver, and others. Since then, the Festival has grown and changed and moved around town, but we’ve stayed true to our goals of providing a big showcase for sketch comedy and creating opportunities for learning and networking for comedians.
New Ideas Festival (March 6th-23rd)
The New Ideas Festival is an annual, three-week, juried festival of new works and works-in-progress.
Each week features a different program of four short plays performed in the Studio, and a work-shopped reading of a full-length play on each of the three Saturdays performed on the Mainstage.
The chance to see premieres of new dramatic writings from both emerging and experienced theatre artists has made the festival a must-see for Toronto theatregoers for 31 years.
Celebrate Toronto (March 9th-10th)
Come by our market, shop from local vendors, feast upon the diverse cuisines from Toronto based Food Trucks. Live music, interactive activities, and contests honouring Toronto’s 185th anniversary all weekend long! Food trucks and shopping vendors will be open until 9:00pm, and skates can be rented on site. We will be accepting non-perishable food donations for the Daily Bread Food Bank, and proceeds from Celebrate Toronto branded merchandise will also be donated to the Daily Bread Food Bank. With the support of Celebrate Toronto’s partners, TD Bank, Google Pixel, and VIARail this festival continues to run as a free event open to the public to enjoy and celebrate our city.
Sugar Shack Toronto (March 9th-10th)
Toronto’s urban cabane à sucre experience returns to the waterfront for a sweet weekend of winter fun and plenty of fresh maple syrup.
Tap into your true Canadian self this March break at the fourth annual Sugar Shack TO, presented by Redpath. From March 9-10, Sherbourne Common will be transformed into a maple wonderland that will include; two sugar shacks, live music, ice activities and games, delicious maple-infused food, a specialty bar, battle of the chainsaws, a warming station and much more.
The Toronto Sportsmen’s Show (March 13th)
The largest of its kind in Canada, the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show has been bringing the best of outdoor adventure and travel to families for over 70 years. Running from March 13 to 17 and located at The International Centre, this five-day paradise for hunting and fishing enthusiasts offers the latest in outdoor gear, destinations, free seminars and fun activities the whole family can enjoy. Sportsmen attendees will relish in the show’s most popular and exciting attractions like West Coast Lumberjack Show and chainsaw carver presented by Husqvarna, to reeling in a share of over $75,000 in prizes from the Casting Pond, to getting up close to live reptiles and birds with Speaking of Wildlife, to furry entertainment from the WoofJocks Canine All Stars performing the ultimate dog show, and much more!
Toronto ComiCon (March 15th-17th)
Toronto Comicon, a pop culture convention for fans of comics, sci-fi, horror, cosplay, anime and gaming, is returning to take over the city this March Break from March 15-17, 2019. The 3-day extravaganza is packed with exciting, family-friendly activities and Celebrity Guests including ‘Hellboy’ star Ron Perlman, “Steve Urkel” himself, Jaleel White, John Rhys-Davies from ‘Lord of the Rings’, Tommy Flanagan and Ryan Hurt from ‘Sons of Anarchy’ and more!
Guinness St Patty’s Day (March 16th)
It’s that time again. Your chance to be Irish for the day! Dust off those green clothes, get out the face paint and gather your friends for debatably the wildest party of the year. SPD is Canada’s largest St. Patrick’s celebration, with thousands of people coming together from all ages and backgrounds for this highly anticipated day! Get ready to do St. Patrick’s Day right.
Water Docs Film Festival (March 20th-24th)
Running from March 20-24, Water Docs is a film festival about all things water. Come out and enjoy feature and short films, live Q&A sessions with filmmakers, artists, activists, and speakers.
